In attesa della tavola rotonda milanese post Sxsw, Matteo Sarzana, Vml, ci sollecita con suggestioni in pillola, direttamente da Austin. 7) the best interface is no interface – golden krishna

  • there’s a terrible trend a in technology
  • there’s a wave that is taking us away from solving problems, which is the ultimate tecchology goal
  • when pc were created a awful user interface was created which was input type based (DOS)
  • xerox converted it in windows and mouse input controlling
  • 10 years later touch control was created
  • the love for the interface has gone out of control. interfaces are put everywhere, on cars, on refrigerators, etc…
  • ux is not = ui
  • screens cannot solve all the problems
  • we are surrounded by screen
  • principle one: think about the action you need to perform and not about the screen -> think about the processes and not about the screen needed to perform the action
  • good experience designe is not in the screen but in the design
  • principle two: leverage computer instead of catering to them
  • computers shoudl do things we don’t want to do or things we do not know can be done
  • principle three: create a system which adapts for individuals
  • everyone is unique but software is not created that way
  • data science can do much more in the consumer space
  • interfaces can learn the habits pattern till the point when you do not need to interact with the interfaace anymore
  • automatic solution scare people but once you get it right it becomes embedded in people’s life
  • user interface as a backup for when failure occures to automatic solution
  • interfaces do get in between creating a further layer in the people experience
  • nointerface.com
  • google now is a first step, but still requires a lot of interaction
  • if we get used to automathic solution people should be able to devote more time to the important things which cannot be done by sensors or computers
