In attesa della tavola rotonda milanese post Sxsw, Matteo Sarzana, Vml, ci sollecita con suggestioni in pillola, direttamente da Austin. 6) arrogance and confidence in design – jonty sharples

  • arrogance in design is a bad thing since it take the consumer out of the equation, or your employes, or your competitors
  • arrogance in design happens when something is designed beautiful but with actual use or it’s hard to be used
  • arrogance happens when the designers are not in touch with people who will actually produce the product or will make it real
  • design without testing only results in arrogance, unless you’re lucky, but would you spend lot of money without being certain of the results?
  • “don’t give your users shit work” -> if people spend more time trying to understand how to use a product than using it, you’ve created arrogance in design. instagram is an example of no shit in deisgn
  • designing for the web is nothing different than designing a product: you need to create something popular and usable my the most people possibile
  • designing for the web is like designing a product for the masses
  • never put form before function!
  • care in design shows respect towards the consumers
  • web design = industrial design
  • good design is delightful or unnoticeable
